Who the heck do you think we are?
Except for the god question atheists believe in most of the things as everyone else. We’re your neighbors, we have families, we are educated, we participate in all forms of altruism, we are veterans, we believe in our democracy, we vote and we hold our personal and civil liberties dear. We have to because of the massive influence of Christianity’s toxic encroachment into our secular politics. We certainly are not minions of the devil. This is not complicated. We are ATHEISTS. The word is unambiguous. Not…theists. This goes for all things supernatural. Besides, form our point of view, there is no discernible difference between your god and it’s counterparts in theistic mythologies. They’re all fictional characters.
On the theistic claim of no morality without god; Atheists are not the ones bending over backwards to mitigate Gods instructions on how to own people as property, to rape and murder. We’re not the ones coming to your home to proselytize. We’re not the one subverting public science education with primitive mythology. We’re not the ones accosting people in public places for money. We’re not the ones draining public resources for parochial institutions. We’re not the ones weaponizing biology to victimize children. We’re not the ones asking for special dispensation to discriminate. We’re not the ones with tax free status to grow your base and we’re certainly not the ones picketing military funerals. Just say’n.
“Ask yourself, what kind of mind demands to be worshipped for doing what came naturally and why should anyone feel compelled to be subservient to a benevolent benefactor? Forever!” Nationofnope
