Aka, Your Loving God.

Well here we are.

I bet you’re puzzled by my hostile attitude towards Christians. Hard to fathom is it? Believe me, I can intellectually appreciate the importance people place on faith. It is the thesis that forms the basis for their world view. But unlike any other thesis it rigidly resists modification when dogma is in conflict with evolving knowledge. However, that is not my principle beef with all Abrahamic faiths.

You do understand that atheism is simply the rejection of claims of the supernatural. The concept of worshiping anything supernatural is an anathema to me. Atheism is not a substitute for anything.

I would like to spend my limited time pondering our natural world without the relentless efforts by the faithful to create a reality based on a fiction that are all holy books. They are all demonstrably in error.

Here is the killer diller. Failure to accept what is clearly impossible, morally reprehensible and blatant retelling of myths from older cultures will result in my ghastly torment for eternity.

These heaven and hell myths are equally ludicrous to an atheist. They are the equivalent of the boogie man used to scare children. Here in lies the issue. Christians and Muslims believe this is the natural consequence for non belief. This together with the actions and pronouncements attributed to the god of Abraham’s entire dictatorial edifice is morally reprehensible and base. These are primitive concepts from Bronze and Iron Age societies and for the betterment of humanity should be relegated to history. So there.

Ron is a third generation Portland Oregon native. He is a husband, father of three adult children, grandfather of two, Combat veteran, Eagle Scout, past President of Portland Civic Theatre, past member of Portland Active 20/30 club and retired Real Estate Broker. Just your average citizen living a secure retirement with his wife of 42 years and five rescue cats. Oh ya and a screaming, raving, hair on fire anti-theist. Any agitation people experience from reading his thoughts is intended to make people question their foundational beliefs.
