If There Was No God; A Snarky Retort

If there were no god, nothing in the natural world would nor could change. What do you think?

Not a unique¬†posturing. It’s settled¬†doctrine in the secular word.

So what now?

Well how would I know? I mean the universe would be the same. Right? As creation myths go they were all pretty lame. Weird, when you hear them out loud they obviously were primitive attempts¬†to make sense of the natural world. All that is except your version. What’s up with that I wonder?

Maybe language would change. Words like blasphemy would have no meaning other than a historical reference. People may need therapy. It might be like waking up from a dream you’re not ready to let go of. Some folks may believe they have carte blanches to behave how they please lacking a god based morality. Really, and maybe the judge will consider it a legitimate defense at trial. To be kind, it is what people have been told. Kinda creepy when you ponder that much of your life has been tethered to a myth. Not even a unique one. The bulk of it is rehashed stories from older cultures. Pretty effective blinders people ware.

Back to the nothing would change part. Well of course things will change. People will understand that this is it. No do overs. No after life. The long term survival of our species should be our top priority. Next comes security, sustenance, health, welfare and an unencumbered path to self actualization.

Simple really.

Ron is a third generation Portland Oregon native. He is a husband, father of three adult children, grandfather of two, Combat veteran, Eagle Scout, past President of Portland Civic Theatre, past member of Portland Active 20/30 club and retired Real Estate Broker. Just your average citizen living a secure retirement with his wife of 42 years and five rescue cats. Oh ya and a screaming, raving, hair on fire anti-theist. Any agitation people experience from reading his thoughts is intended to make people question their foundational beliefs.
